PATRIOT: Put a permanent end to animal cruelty

Patriot expresses its deep concern over the many reports of gruesome cruelty towards animals and in particular the

cold blooded killing of dogs.

Shooting or snaring and dragging stray dogs on streets is a heinous act that goes very much against the care and

compassion values being promoted by the Madani government.

In fact it is against all universal values and as such puts our nation in bad light too.

Patriot demands that local authorities stop such beastly acts immediately. Enough is enough.

The veterinary department should educate local authorities on the humane means of controlling the stray dog and cat

population in the country as these animals can pose health problems.

Patriot also recommends that schools should encourage our young minds to have pets and educate the children about

pet care and responsibility.

Discrimination against animals especially dogs as can be easily perceived from the brutal actions taken, nationwide,

is a disease of the mind if not a convoluted manifestation of extremism.

Perhaps the legal fraternity can also play a role to help bring to speed the immediate stopping of all such cruel

manifestations by hauling violating local authorities to court.

Patriot also expresses deep concerns over pet owners – cats and dogs, who fail to exercise personal responsibility in

caring for their animals. Action must be enforced to hold people accountable.
