PATRIOT CONGRATULATES TUN DR MAHATHIR AND ALL PAKATAN HARAPAN LEADERS FOR LEADING THE PEOPLE INTO A MALAYSIAN VICTORY
The GE14 result is out and the people have spoken. Persatuan Patriot Kebangsaan (Patriot) congratulates Tun Dr Mahathir and all the leaders of Pakatan Harapan for leading the people into a Malaysian victory. It is indeed a victory long overdue, to give our country a chance to wipe off the shame, to renew and rebuild, and a new beginning.
National unity has been one of our main objectives. Patriot has for the last few months issued several statements expressing our desire and aspirations to see a harmonious, prosperous and progressive Malaysia. On 6 May 2018 Patriot has organized the Forum Aspirasi Rakyat and sixteen NGOs/groups participated. Each group gave its own aspirations what it aspired from the coalition that forms the next government. As patriotic Malaysians all the participating NGOs/groups have decided to dedicate us to help realize a better society, a better nation, and a strong desire to help make Malaysia great again.
This Malaysian victory is a new beginning and it has to start with national unity. In the communiqué issued at the end of the Forum Aspirasi Rakyat, among other points, we have resolved that every Malaysian, irrespective of race, religion or social standing, must be made to feel important and needed. It is for a better tomorrow where every son and daughter of this beloved country of ours can proudly call Malaysia, my home. Towards this end, Patriot calls on all Malaysians from Semenanjung, Sabah and Sarawak, to put our nation first, help our new government in building our society and nation.
Much needs to be done to put right – fiscal policy, climbing national debt, inter-ethnic distrust, religious bigotry, decline in our educational standard, wastage and abuse in governance, plights of minority groups, and poverty among the rural and urban poor, among others. Let us all start to think as Malaysians first. Let us together make Malaysia great again.
