We have time and again reminded political parties not to use racial sentiment in their political speeches and campaigning. This is an old tactic of campaigning dating more than 50 years ago. Such tactic is divisive, creating blind hatred, and the wounds cut too deep to prevent speedy healing. It worked then mainly because our society had not been affluent and dynamic. We Malaysians must confine such divisive tactic of campaigning to history and bury it into the abyss of Jurassic era, forever.
There is absolutely no need to inflame racial sentiment by saying 'DAP Chinese'. By all means attack your political opponents on issues, and name the parties concerned. We do not hear of any one saying 'UMNO Malays', 'MCA Chinese', "MIC Indian' or "PBS Kadazan'. Only the party name is mentioned, and rightfully so. However, when it comes to DAP, ethnicity has to be linked to it. This is a very crude, immature, and uneducated manner employed in speeches and campaigning. Our society is now desperately in need to unite, to rebuild our country. Human resources are important. Every citizen should be made to feel important, needed, and instilled a sense of belonging and love for the King and country.
Please, UMNO, ask your members to grow up and start to think Malaysia as a whole.
